After the graduation of Istanbul University, College of Art and Sciences, Guidance and Psychological Counseling in 1997, Gol-Guven started her masters in Syarcuse University, Human Development College, Department of Child and Family Studies in 1999. She completed her masters program by writing her masters’ thesis “Parents’ and Teachers’ Expectations of Early Childhood Programs in Turkey”. Gol-Guven started her Ph.D. career in Penn State Univerity, College of Education, Department of Curriculum and Instruction in 2006. She earned her degree with the completion of her dissertation “Fire Bee Versus ABC: Cultural Varieties in Mother-Child Play Interactions in a Playgroup and at Home”. During her masters and doctorate studies she took the teaching assitant position in variety courses such as Child Development Theories. Gol-Guven worked as a fix-term faculty when she was an instructor of Clinical Application of Instruction for Elementary Education Field Experience. In addition, she worked as a researcher to plan and organize a three-year long project in which she evaluated a primary school and gave feedback and suggestions to the school.
